The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a strong rebuttal to allegations of electoral malpractice made by a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) candidate in Dahisar, addressing concerns about EVM seals, battery levels, and discrepancies in vote counts. The BMC cites official documentation and Election Commission guidelines to refute each claim.
Ahead of the crucial vote counting in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, the Indian National Congress has appointed senior leaders as observers to monitor the post-election situation. Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel, and Dr. G. Parameshwara will oversee Maharashtra, while Tariq Anwar, Mallu Bhatti Viramarka, and Krishna Allavuru will focus on Jharkhand.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar has accused the Narendra Modi government of protecting corrupt leaders and using its power to suppress the opposition in Maharashtra. He cited a statement from NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, who joined the ruling alliance, to support his claim. Pawar also criticized the government’s policies, claiming they are detrimental to farmers and women’s safety.
