Thousands of devotees witnessed Lord Kallazhagar redeeming Suthapas rishi, known as Mandooga Maharishi, from his curse, symbolizing the freeing of two cranes from their fate. According to legend, Suthapas ignored Sage Dhoorvasar’s presence while bathing, leading to a curse that transformed him into a frog, redeemable only by Lord Kallazhagar’s visit to the Vaigai.
