Nathaniel Sakebow, 33, was arrested and charged with manslaughter on July 15, 2023, in a homicide on Witchekan Lake First Nation. Following his court appearance on April 19, he was released on conditions including GPS electronic monitoring and a 24-hour curfew. On April 23, 2024, officers received a report that Sakebow had tampered with the electronic monitoring device and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The Spiritwood RCMP is asking the public to report sightings and information on Sakebow’s whereabouts.

Jamie Ross, a 29-year-old prisoner, escaped from his guards while attending a funeral in Edinburgh. The manhunt involves specialist officers, while the public is advised not to approach Ross. He was last seen near the Cameron Toll shopping area, and was wearing a black puffer jacket, dark trousers and grey trainers. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 101.

A man suspected of murdering two people and abducting a 1-year-old child in eastern Washington was apprehended on Tuesday afternoon following a police chase near Eugene, Oregon. The suspect, 39-year-old Elias Huizar, was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The 1-year-old child was recovered and is safe. Huizar, a former Yakima police officer, was the subject of a multi-state manhunt for the past 24 hours. He was due in court on Monday for an alleged rape charge.

Orpheus Pledger, known for his role as Mason Morgan on Home and Away, has escaped police while being escorted to the hospital for a mental health assessment. The actor is accused of attacking a woman at a nightclub, leaving her with serious injuries. Pledger’s bail has been revoked, and a warrant for his arrest has been issued. Police have launched a nationwide manhunt, and Pledger’s mental health is a concern.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy was shot in the chest and rushed to the hospital on Monday in West Covina. Authorities responded to the deputy’s call for help near Barranca and Garvey avenues. After a manhunt, a suspect was taken into custody in La Puente. The deputy was on-duty and riding his motorcycle when he was shot. He was wearing a bullet-proof vest and is expected to recover.
