Bihar YouTuber Manish Kashyap, who was arrested last year for allegedly creating ‘fake videos’ claiming attacks on Bihari migrants in Tamil Nadu, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Kashyap was arrested in March 2023 and spent several months in jail before being granted bail in December 2023. He has now expressed gratitude to the BJP and his mother for his release and subsequent joining of the party.

Kashyap’s journey has been marked by controversies and legal cases, including an arrest for allegedly sharing fake videos. However, he has remained a supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed his desire to break the cycle of dynastic politics in Bihar. Kashyap had initially planned to contest the Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate from Paschim Champaran but later decided to join the BJP.
