EverestLabs, a leading climate tech company, has partnered with LRS, a waste diversion and recycling provider, and CMI, the Can Manufacturers Institute, to increase the recycling rate of aluminum beverage cans. The partnership includes the installation of EverestLabs’ RecycleOS robot, an AI-enabled material sorting robot, at LRS’s The Exchange MRF in Chicago. The robot is designed to capture missorted UBCs (used beverage cans), which can significantly increase the revenue for the recycling system and ensure maximum efficiency, recovery, and recycling of UBCs. This partnership is part of a larger effort to improve the aluminum recycling ecosystem and reach ambitious recycling rate goals.
