Medina Elementary Students to Start Summer Break Early for Teacher Training

Elementary school students in Medina, Ohio will be able to start their summer break a day earlier than expected due to a change in the school calendar. The last day of school for students in grades K-5 will now be May 22 instead of May 23, with May 23 serving as a professional development day for teachers. The change will allow teachers to receive training on a new language arts program that will be implemented across the district next year. While some students will be dismissed early, the change does not affect preschool, grades 6-11, or seniors, who will be out of school by that point.
