Commuters on Mumbai’s Western Line will face significant disruptions due to a 35-day mega block for the extension of the sixth line between Goregaon and Kandivali. The construction, scheduled to begin around August 27-28, will result in the cancellation of up to 700 train services over five weekends. While efforts have been made to minimize inconvenience, the impact on commuters will be substantial.
Starting at midnight on May 30th, the Central Railway in Mumbai will conduct a 63-hour mega block for platform extension and widening at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Thane station. During this period, local train services will be affected, and commuters are advised to limit travel. The block is expected to end at 3:30 pm on Sunday.
