Melaka, a historical and culturally rich Malaysian state, is gearing up for a significant increase in international tourism with the launch of a new Singapore-Melaka cruise route. This new route, featuring 52 voyages of the luxurious Genting Dream Cruise, is expected to bring in 200,000 tourists, boosting the local economy and showcasing Melaka’s heritage to a wider audience.
Resorts World Cruises has introduced a new cruise route featuring Melaka as a primary destination. The Genting Dream will offer 2-night cruises every Sunday from Singapore, with extended port stays in both Melaka and Kuala Lumpur. The cruise line has also appointed Fan Bingbing as the ‘Visit Melaka 2024’ ambassador, boosting the destination’s global tourism appeal.
Starting November 10, 2024, Resorts World Cruises’ Genting Dream will embark on 2-night voyages from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, with a new twist: a stop in Melaka. The historic port offers a unique opportunity to explore Melaka’s rich cultural heritage, before continuing to Kuala Lumpur. This innovative itinerary combines the excitement of cruising with the cultural immersion of two vibrant Malaysian cities.
Tourism Malaysia is hosting a special program titled “Visit with Media Influencers” to promote Melaka as a premier tourist destination within Malaysia. The program, part of the Malaysian Holiday Campaign, aims to highlight the diverse attractions and cultural richness of Melaka by offering immersive experiences to nine media representatives, including influential figures from new media platforms.
