JEDEC Extends DDR5 Spec to 8800 MT/s, Paving the Way for DDR5-10000

JEDEC has extended the official DDR5 memory specification from 6400 MT/s to 8800 MT/s, indicating improvements in next-generation memory ICs. While current hardware may not support DDR5-8800, it suggests the baseline for future memory speeds is rising. Memory manufacturers can push beyond the previous 6400 MT/s limit, with DDR5-10000 kits potentially becoming a reality within a year.
