Meta Platforms has announced its compliance with the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) by enabling interoperability between its messaging services, WhatsApp and Messenger, with third-party apps. This move allows users in Europe to connect with individuals using other messaging services, offering a more unified and user-friendly experience. While the initial rollout includes basic interoperability features, Meta plans to expand functionality to include group chats and voice/video calling in the coming years.

Meta has released AI Studio, a tool allowing users to create custom AI chatbots on Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. These chatbots can be personalized as friends, community members, specialists, or even digital twins, offering unique interactions and potential for various applications.

Crawford expressed her excitement about Meta’s scale and impact in the space, as well as her admiration for CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s vision and intensity.

The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses have received a significant update that introduces several new features and enhancements, including native Apple Music voice controls, improved WhatsApp and Messenger video calling, and a new command for identifying songs playing through the glasses.
