Michael Toglia Optioned to Triple-A, Hunter Goodman Recalled

The Colorado Rockies have optioned first baseman/right fielder Michael Toglia to Triple-A Albuquerque and recalled utility player Hunter Goodman to take his place on the 26-man roster. Toglia has struggled this season, batting just .106/.143/.362 with four home runs and a 40.8% strikeout rate. Goodman, on the other hand, has impressed at Triple-A, hitting .298/.352/.690 with seven home runs and a 20.9% strikeout rate. The Rockies hope that sending Toglia down will allow him to “take a step back and sort of regroup,” while Goodman will provide some depth in the outfield and at first base.
