Pakistan Threatens to Target TTP Sanctuaries in Afghanistan Amid New Anti-Terror Operation

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has warned that the country may target sanctuaries of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Afghanistan as part of its newly launched military operation. This comes after lukewarm support from the Afghan Taliban to stop the use of their territory by the TTP for attacks against Pakistan. Asif ruled out dialogue with the TTP, citing a lack of common ground and blaming former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government for the Taliban’s presence in Pakistan.

IDF Elimination of Hezbollah Commanders in Southern Lebanon

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced that the IDF has eliminated half of Hezbollah’s brigade-level commanders in southern Lebanon. This comes after the IDF reported killing six brigade-level and over 30 battalion-level commanders recently. Hezbollah, with an estimated force of 50,000-100,000, has a similar command structure to Hamas, which has five brigade commanders for a force of 35,000-40,000. The IDF’s elimination of a significant number of senior commanders, along with dozens of junior commanders, indicates substantial progress in weakening Hezbollah’s leadership.
