Tragic Collision: Ten Dead as Malaysian Military Helicopters Crash

Ten lives have been lost in a tragic helicopter collision during a training exercise in northern Malaysia. Two aircraft, an AW139 maritime operation helicopter and a Fennec lightweight helicopter, collided mid-air and crashed into the ground at a naval base. All seven crew members aboard the AW139 and three on the Fennec were confirmed dead at the scene. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.

Malaysian Military Helicopters Collide, Killing 10

Two Malaysian military helicopters collided and crashed during a training session on Tuesday, killing all 10 crew onboard. The incident occurred during a flypast rehearsal for the navy fleet’s open day celebrations in May. Both helicopters, a Eurocopter AS555SN Fennec and an AgustaWestland AW139, crashed after colliding in mid-air. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and ordered an immediate investigation into the cause of the crash.

Three German Citizens Arrested for Spying for China and Exporting Dual-Use Laser

Three German citizens have been arrested on suspicion of spying for China and illegally exporting a special laser with potential military uses. The suspects allegedly acted for Chinese intelligence since before June 2022 and violated German export laws. One suspect allegedly acted as an agent for an employee of China’s Ministry of State Security, obtaining information on military technologies in Germany.
