Minal Desai, the vice president of the Skokie Park District Board, has been appointed as the new village clerk for Skokie. She was selected after 15 applicants submitted their names and five finalists were interviewed. Desai replaces Pramod Shah, who retired in December 2023. The village clerk is an elected full-time position with four-year terms and earns $87,000 a year. Desai brings a wealth of public affairs experience and business acumen to the role. She has served on the Skokie Park District Board for five years and has worked for a Chicago logistics company since 2019. Desai speaks six languages and is responsible for all matters involving elections in Skokie.
