Earth Gets a New Mini-Moon for a Few Months

A small asteroid, dubbed 2024 PT5, is set to become Earth’s temporary moon for a few months, joining a handful of other mini-moons that have briefly orbited our planet in recent years. This celestial visitor, discovered by the ATLAS system, is expected to remain in Earth’s gravitational pull from late September to late November before continuing its journey around the Sun.
