Pune Porsche Crash Case: Police Granted Probation to Question Minor Accused

The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) in Pune has granted permission to the city police to conduct an investigation into the involvement of a minor accused in the fatal Porsche crash that claimed the lives of two techies on May 19. The police have been given two hours to question the minor, who is reportedly the son of a real estate developer in Pune. According to the Juvenile Justice Act, the inquiry must be conducted in the presence of the minor’s parents. The accused is currently being held in an observation home until June 5.

The police’s request for permission to investigate the minor came after they alleged that blood samples of the accused had been tampered with. Two doctors and a staffer from the Sassoon General Hospital have been arrested for allegedly manipulating the blood samples in an attempt to show that the minor was not intoxicated at the time of the accident. The blood samples were reportedly replaced with those of a woman, and the police are currently searching for the woman involved.

Meanwhile, two friends of the minor have claimed that he was under the influence of alcohol when he caused the accident. The JJB had initially granted bail to the teenager after the crash but later modified the order and sent him to an observation home.

On Friday, the father and grandfather of the accused minor were arrested and sent to judicial custody for 14 days. They were accused of threatening and confining a family driver in an attempt to force him to take responsibility for the crime.
