Malawi’s Vice President, Former First Lady Aboard Missing Military Plane

Malawi’s Vice President Saulos Chilima and former first lady Shanil Dzimbiri are among the passengers on a military plane that has gone missing in the country’s northern region. The plane lost contact with air traffic control shortly after takeoff from the capital, Lilongwe, due to bad weather and poor visibility. The search operation is focused on a 10-kilometer radius in one of the plantations in the Viphya mountain range, where the plane’s last known position was tracked.
