Missouri AG Probing Biden DOJ Over Potential Coordination in Trump Prosecutions

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has initiated a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to investigate any potential coordination between the Biden Justice Department (DOJ) and prosecutors involved in indictments against former President Donald Trump. The AG alleges that the investigations and prosecutions appear to have been conducted in coordination with the DOJ, citing the move of high-ranking DOJ official Matthew Colangelo to the Manhattan DA’s office to assist in the prosecution against Trump. Bailey argues that the timing of the charges against Trump, after he declared his candidacy for president, the apparent weakness of the charges, and their impact in keeping Trump off the campaign trail, raise suspicions of coordination between the Biden administration and the prosecutors.

Missouri voters may soon have the chance to decide whether to raise the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour after a group supporting the effort submitted nearly double the required number of signatures. The proposal would raise the minimum wage from $12.30 an hour to $13.75 an hour next year and then to $15 an hour in 2026. It would also require workers to receive paid sick leave. Missouri voters have previously supported minimum wage increases, and the proposal has a good chance of passing in the fall.
