Baldur’s Gate 3’s Official Mod Support Is Coming This September

Larian Studios has announced that official mod support for Baldur’s Gate 3 will finally be released in September with Patch 7. The developer is releasing the toolkit early to beta test it with popular modders this month and will hold a bigger closed beta for 1,000 players in July. Modders will be able to create new weapons, armor, classes, subclasses, spells, and dice skins for the game using Mod.io as the platform for the toolkit. While cross-platform support will not be available for mods that edit levels, cinematics, dialogue, or quests, Larian will continue to allow mods not made with the official toolkit and mods that break these rules to be published on other modding platforms. Official mod support will be enabled for Windows players first via Patch 7 in September before coming to Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox.

WhatsTheStatus Banned from WWE 2K24, sparking #FreeStatus Movement

WWE 2K24 fans are outraged after popular content creator WhatsTheStatus was banned from the game. The ban has sparked the #FreeStatus movement on Twitter, with over 10,000 tweets in support of WhatsTheStatus. While 2K has not provided a specific reason for the ban, it is believed to be due to WhatsTheStatus uploading modded content that violates the game’s terms of service. Community creations are a popular aspect of the WWE 2K series, and WhatsTheStatus was one of the most active and popular creators. Many fans believe that the ban is unfair, especially considering that there is explicit deepfake adult-rated content available on the game that has not been taken down. The ban has also led to several popular WWE games content creators pulling out of the 2K Nextmakers program.

A dedicated Redditor, Raven0606, embarked on a nine-month journey to create their own custom handheld gaming PC, inspired by the popular Steam Deck. Using 3D printing technology, they meticulously assembled the device, dubbed the Ryzen Deck, featuring an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G APU, Xbox controller buttons and sticks, and a scavenged motherboard from an ASRock DeskMini X300. Despite its impressive performance, capable of running light games at 30 fps and even demanding titles like The Witcher 3 at 45-55 fps, the Ryzen Deck weighs a hefty 3.44 pounds and has a limited battery life of approximately 90 minutes. Nonetheless, this remarkable project showcases the dedication and ingenuity of the modding community.
