Several former ministers who served in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s previous government have been dropped from his new cabinet, including Smriti Irani, Anurag Thakur, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, RK Singh, Narayan Rane, VK Singh, Kapil Patil, Raosaheb Danve, and Bharti Pawar. Smriti Irani lost her Lok Sabha seat in Amethi, while Anurag Thakur retained his seat in Himachal Pradesh but was not included in the cabinet. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who lost a close contest in Kerala, was also dropped. RK Singh lost his seat in Bihar, and Narayan Rane, despite winning in Maharashtra, was also not included in the new cabinet. General (retd) VK Singh was not given a ticket to contest the 2024 elections, and Kapil Patil lost his seat in Maharashtra. Raosaheb Danve and Bharti Pawar also lost their respective Lok Sabha seats and are not part of the new government.
