The Delhi government has announced a 50% discount on certain traffic fines in a bid to encourage citizens to settle their violations quickly and avoid lengthy legal processes. This move aims to ease the burden on transport department officers and enhance on-ground enforcement efforts for smoother traffic management.
Top Maharashtra transport officials revealed that the Porsche Taycan involved in the fatal accident in Pune had its permanent registration pending since March due to the owner’s failure to pay a fee of Rs. 1,758. The vehicle was driven by a 17-year-old son of a prominent builder, allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The temporary registration certificate, issued by Karnataka, expired in September 2024, and the car will now be impounded for 12 months due to gross negligence.
