Gunstock Amateur Hill Climb Returns to Progressive Laconia Motorcycle Week®

The legendary Gunstock Amateur Hill Climb will make its return to Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, New Hampshire, on Wednesday, June 12, as part of the historic Progressive Laconia Motorcycle Week®. Amateur motorcyclists will race to the top of the 70-meter Torger Tokle Ski Jump, thrilling the crowds. The hill climb has been a part of the rally since its early days, originally held unofficially in 1917 and moving to Gunstock in 1938. This year, over 7,000 spectators are expected to witness competitors in various classes, including Micro Mini and Senior, among others. The event will also feature three breaks for a daring motorcycle stunt show by Eastcoastin’ Enterprises.

Motorcyclists Embrace the Open Road, Balancing Excitement and Safety

Motorcycling enthusiasts like Spencer Remezoff have found a passion that brings joy and a sense of youth. While the open road offers thrills, safety concerns remain due to the smaller size and vulnerability of motorcycles on the road. Experts like Tyler McMurchy of SGI emphasize the importance of shared responsibility, reminding drivers to exercise patience and give motorcyclists ample space. Motorcyclists, in turn, are urged to adhere to traffic laws and act as responsible vehicle operators to minimize risks.
