After fermenting the Mountain Dew with honey and yeast, he discovered that the preservatives in the soda were ineffective, so he added baking soda to raise the pH. After several weeks, he clarified the mixture, resulting in a wine with an alcohol content of 13.9 percent. The TikToker noted that the wine tasted like “smooth citrus mead” with a slight chemical aftertaste.
