St. Paul Simplifies Amplified Noise Permit Process for Multi-Day Events

The St. Paul City Council has made it easier for organizers to obtain permits for amplified noise at multi-day public gatherings. Previously, separate permits were required for each calendar day of the event, at a cost of $138 each. Under the new ordinance amendment, event organizers can now submit a single application covering the entire duration of the event and pay the $138 fee only once, even if the event spans non-consecutive days. The amendment was approved by a unanimous 5-0 vote. City Council Member Rebecca Noecker, who authored the amendment, noted that the change will streamline the application process and simplify events such as weekly summer music gatherings.
