The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi has slammed the Election Commission of India (ECI) over the victory of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) candidate Ravindra Waikar in the Mumbai North West Lok Sabha constituency by a margin of just 48 votes. Chaturvedi has alleged collusion and unfair practices, claiming that the ECI is delaying the investigation into the matter. Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Amol Kirtikar has also raised concerns about the counting process, alleging that the announcement and display of votes after each round stopped after the 19th round and that Waikar was directly announced as the winning candidate after the 26th round. Kirtikar has also sought CCTV footage of the counting process but has been denied by the Mumbai Suburban District Collector. The Sena (UBT) is planning to challenge the results in court.
