India’s largest airline, IndiGo, faced intense trolling on social media platforms after a flight from Mumbai to Varanasi had to return to the bay to offload an extra passenger. The incident occurred due to an error in the boarding process, wherein a standby passenger was mistakenly allotted a seat reserved for a confirmed passenger. The error was noticed before departure, leading to the cancellation of the standby passenger’s boarding and a slight delay in the flight. IndiGo has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to their customers and is taking measures to strengthen operational processes.
