Despite having collected over ₹ 20 crore as cow cess, the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC) has failed to effectively address the problem of stray cattle roaming city streets and posing safety hazards to residents. The MC has struggled to find adequate space to shelter the stray animals, with over 1,800 already relocated to gaushalas. The MC plans to construct three more sheds to house 400 more animals, but residents remain concerned about the lack of tangible action despite the funds available.
