Fifteen high school students from ‘Los Coyotes,’ an award-winning mariachi band from Uvalde, Texas, joined forces with students from Skyline High School in Longmont, Colorado. Together, they rehearsed ‘Trenecito’ (‘Little Train’), a lively musical piece, under the guidance of ‘Los Coyotes’ director Albert Martinez. This collaboration is part of a weeklong visit by ‘Los Coyotes’ to Boulder County, organized by the Boulder Chorale in partnership with various organizations. Despite the tragic events in Uvalde in May 2022, the band continues to inspire through their vibrant music, bringing joy and cultural enrichment to communities they visit.
