A fire at the Avon Place Apartment complex on Sunday evening injured two firefighters and displaced an unknown number of residents. The fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. in a third-floor unit and spread to a void space between the third floor and the roof, requiring firefighters to cut holes in the roof to extinguish the flames. No residents were injured, but one firefighter was treated at the scene and another was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
