Pune Court Acquits Three in Dabholkar Murder Case, Sentences Two to Life

A special court in Pune has acquitted three accused, including Virendrasinh Tawde, Sanjeev Punalekar, and Vikram Bhave, in the assassination of activist Narendra Dabholkar. However, the court sentenced Sachin Andure and Sharad Kalaskar to life imprisonment for their involvement in the 2013 murder. Dabholkar, the founder of the anti-superstition group Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti, was shot dead by bike-borne assailants while walking in Pune on August 20, 2013.
