NCP Raises Concern Over Trumpet Symbol Allotted to Independent Candidate in Baramati

The Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has filed a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) regarding the symbol allotted to an independent candidate contesting from its stronghold in Baramati. The independent candidate, Shaikh Soyalshah Yunusshah, has been granted a trumpet-like symbol by the EC, which the NCP claims bears a significant resemblance to the party’s own symbol of “a man blowing turha” (traditional trumpet). The NCP believes that this similarity could potentially confuse voters, and has requested the EC to rectify the issue by renaming the independent candidate’s symbol to “trumpet” instead of “tutari”.

Parth Pawar, son of Maharashtra Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, has been granted Y+ security by the state government.
