Journey guitarist Neal Schon has expressed interest in playing at the Sphere in Las Vegas, calling the venue ‘perfect’ for the band’s classic material. The Sphere, which has hosted U2 and Phish, features state-of-the-art audio-visual technology. Schon believes Journey’s early hits would be ‘explosive’ in the immersive environment. The band is currently on the ‘Freedom Tour’ with co-headliners Def Leppard and alternating lineups of Cheap Trick, Heart, and Steve Miller Band. The Sphere has not yet scheduled Journey, but Schon’s comments suggest the possibility remains open.
