The Bears Ears National Monument (BENM) has entered the final stages of the NEPA process, with the proposed management plan now available for public review. The plan, developed through extensive collaboration with five Tribal Nations, the Bureau of Land Management, and the U.S. Forest Service, prioritizes Indigenous knowledge and cultural preservation in managing the monument’s resources. The plan will undergo a consistency review by the Utah Governor before finalization.
