The theme for this year’s celebration was “New Nusantara, Advanced Indonesia,” reflecting the country’s aspirations for the new capital. However, the inauguration ceremony for President-elect Subianto will still be held in Jakarta, despite initial plans to hold it in Nusantara. The move to Nusantara aims to address the problems plaguing Jakarta, including rapid sinking, pollution, and overcrowding.
