Danish Diplomat Calls Out Garbage-Filled Road in New Delhi, Urges for Action

H.E. Freddy Svane, Denmark’s diplomat to India, took to social media to express his disappointment over the garbage-filled service road between the Danish and Greek embassies in New Delhi. In a video posted on Twitter, Svane highlighted the deplorable state of the road, which he described as “great, green, and trashy.” He urged authorities to take immediate action to address the waste management issues plaguing the city.

The video sparked reactions from Indian netizens, who lamented the widespread waste management problems in Delhi. Several users pointed to the lack of proper waste disposal methods and the ineffective efforts of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). They suggested that a comprehensive initiative was urgently needed to tackle this pressing issue.

In a lighter vein, India’s Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, had previously expressed his distaste for Delhi’s garbage mounds and proposed constructing roads from recycled waste. The proposal, intended as a solution to reduce waste accumulation, had garnered attention and highlighted the need for innovative waste management strategies.
