Spirit Airlines is establishing a new pilot crew base at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in September 2024, as part of its commitment to operational reliability. The move underscores Spirit’s growth at EWR, where it has become the second-largest carrier, operating up to 32 peak day departures and serving 22 destinations. The strategic location of EWR within Spirit’s network and its substantial flight schedule make it an ideal location for the new pilot crew base, which will initially house around 200 pilots and additional support staff.
