West Bengal Launches ‘Rattirer Shaathi’ to Enhance Women’s Safety After Doctor’s Murder

In response to the tragic murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, the West Bengal government has launched ‘Rattirer Shaathi,’ a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving the safety of women working night shifts. The initiative includes a mandatory mobile app with alarm features, designated safe zones, and increased police presence, as well as sensitization programs for government and private organizations.
