Don Bosco Prep, ranked third in the NJ.com Top 20, dominated Paramus Catholic 11-0 in a dominant display of offensive and defensive prowess. Chase Bagley led the charge for Don Bosco, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored.
In a thrilling high school baseball matchup, Alex Weingartner and Ryan Williams led St. Augustine to a narrow 8-7 win against Lenape. Weingartner and Williams each hit a triple and drove in two runs, contributing to the Hermits’ early lead. Despite Lenape’s valiant efforts to close the gap, St. Augustine ultimately secured the victory.
Notre Dame, the top-ranked team in the NJ.com Top 20, defeated Jackson Memorial by a score of 9-8 in a thrilling softball matchup. Senior Emma Marchese and sophomore Jenna Cocuzza led the charge for Notre Dame, with Marchese hitting a three-run home run and Cocuzza adding a solo homer. Jackson Memorial’s Dominique Lopez also went yard, but the comeback fell short as Notre Dame improved to 8-1 on the season.
St. Augustine High School, ranked 11th in the NJ.com Top 20, extended its winning streak to five games with a convincing 12-2 victory over Vineland. Jake Meyers starred for the Purple Knights, driving in four runs and scoring one on a 2-for-3 performance.
Led by Lexi Lopez’s dominant pitching performance, Robbinsville, ranked 16th in NJ.com’s Top 20, defeated Hopewell Valley 10-0 in a decisive victory. Lopez pitched a five-inning two-hitter, striking out five batters and allowing no walks. Robbinsville, now with a record of 8-1, extended its shutout streak to six consecutive games and an overall total of seven shutouts this season. Caroline Walls and Sorella Gallucci each had exceptional offensive performances, with Walls going 3-for-3 with three RBI and Gallucci contributing a 3-for-3 performance with two RBI and a double.
Hunterdon Central, ranked 16th in the NJ.com Top 20, extended their winning streak to seven with a resounding 18-3 triumph over Ridge. Maggie Scally led the Red Devils’ offensive onslaught, scoring four goals and assisting on two more. Jelly Schnell contributed a hat-trick and dished out five assists in a remarkable performance. Hunterdon Central’s dominance was evident from the outset, as they netted nine goals in the opening period and never allowed Ridge to gain momentum.
Ava Fisher led St. Joseph of Hammonton to an 11-1 victory over Millville, hitting two home runs and driving in four. On the mound, she pitched a complete game with four hits allowed and one earned run.
