The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe heatwave warning with a red alert for Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi. Heatwave conditions are also predicted in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Meanwhile, Assam and Goa will experience hot and humid weather. In contrast, north-eastern states are expected to receive scattered to widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds. Heavy rainfall has been forecasted for Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala in the coming days.
