IMD Predicts Heatwave in Several Parts of India, Orange Alert for Heavy Rains in North East

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for several parts of the country till May 7th. Simultaneously, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall in North East India on May 5th and 6th. Heat wave conditions are expected to continue over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and interior Karnataka on May 4th and 5th. Isolated pockets of Saurashtra, Kutch, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and North Interior Karnataka may also experience heatwave conditions on May 6th. On May 7th, isolated heatwave conditions are predicted in West Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Kutch, and North Interior Karnataka.
