IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall in Western, Northeastern India, Heatwave Alert in Northwest, East

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over several states in Western and Northeastern India, while issuing a heatwave alert for parts of Northwest and Eastern India. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, and Goa will experience “very heavy” rainfall until June 12, with a decrease expected afterward. Extremely heavy rainfall is forecast for parts of West Bengal and Sikkim, while Assam and Meghalaya are likely to receive very heavy rainfall for the next 3-4 days. However, a severe heatwave alert has been issued for parts of Northwest and Eastern India for the next 5 days.
