The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heatwave conditions in ten states across India on Friday, May 31. Yellow alerts have been issued for Bihar, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Odisha. The weather department predicts that heatwave conditions will gradually subside over Northwest and Central India from May 31.

Light rainfall is expected in southern states such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh, while isolated heavy rainfall is likely in parts of northeast India. The IMD has also predicted a gradual rise in maximum temperatures across northwest and east India over the next five days.
