NWT Emergency Plan Updates for 2024 High-Risk Season

The Northwest Territories government has updated its emergency plan in response to lessons learned from recent floods and wildfires. The plan outlines the roles and responsibilities of departments, governments, and non-government agencies during an emergency, and includes updates to reimbursement eligibility for local authorities during an evacuation. The plan also emphasizes the importance of communications and business continuity planning, and has identified 95 employees who can step in to support incident management teams during an emergency.
