Heroic Bystanders Rescue Woman from Submerged SUV in Clay

A regular Tuesday lunch break turned into an act of heroism for Lasaros Milian of Syracuse. While waiting at a red light, an SUV careened off the road and into a retention pond, trapping the elderly female driver inside the submerged vehicle. Milian, along with Tom Drumm, didn’t hesitate to jump into the icy water and assist in the rescue. They pried open the car door as water rushed in, successfully freeing the woman and carrying her back to safety. The rescued woman was transported to Upstate University Hospital for evaluation, while Milian returned to his job as a fence installer.
