Joe Tracz Joins ‘One Piece’ Live-Action Series as Co-Showrunner for Season 2

Joe Tracz has been appointed as the new co-showrunner for Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action ‘One Piece’ series. He will work alongside Season 1 co-showrunner and executive producer Matt Owens to helm the adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga. Tracz brings a wealth of experience in adapting popular book series to the screen, having recently served as a writer and co-executive producer on the Disney+ adaptation of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians.’

Steven Maeda, who co-developed the series with Owens and served as co-showrunner on Season 1, will transition to an executive producer role. Tracz, repped by WME, Mosaic, and Hansen Jacobson, expressed his excitement to join the ‘One Piece’ team and contribute to the expansion of its captivating storyline.

The live-action ‘One Piece’ series has proven highly popular with audiences since its August 2023 debut, spending eight weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 rankings and reaching the number one spot in 46 countries. It follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew as they sail the world in search of the legendary One Piece treasure.
