Oura Ring: Still the Smart Ring King?

The Oura Ring, despite its three-year anniversary, remains a valuable tool for health and fitness tracking due to its simple yet informative app. However, the impending release of Samsung’s Galaxy Ring poses a significant challenge, particularly if it avoids a subscription fee. The Oura Ring’s strengths lie in its elegant hardware, user-friendly interface, and data depth, but its growing feature set may impact its simplicity.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Release Date Revealed in Legal Filing

Samsung has taken legal action against the maker of the Oura Ring, accidentally revealing the release date of its upcoming Galaxy Ring. In a petition filed in a U.S. district court, Samsung stated that it plans to release the Galaxy Ring in the U.S. “in or around August.” The Galaxy Ring is expected to feature various health sensors and is anticipated to be priced at around $300. Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Ring at an Unpacked event in Paris on July 10th, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.

OSleeve: The Smart Ring Protector That Keeps Your Jewelry Safe

Protect your valuable smart rings from scratches and scuffs with the OSleeve, a protective cover designed specifically for the Oura Ring. Made from flexible silicone, the OSleeve wraps snugly around the ring, shielding it from everyday wear and tear. Whether you’re lifting weights, working with delicate surfaces, or engaging in any other activities that could damage your ring, the OSleeve ensures it remains pristine.

While the OSleeve is primarily designed for the Oura Ring, it is also compatible with other smart rings, including Ultrahuman and RingOne. The company is exploring partnerships to expand compatibility with even more devices in the future.

The OSleeve is available in various colors, including Arctic White and Luxe Clear, and is priced at $35, comparable to the cost of an average smartphone case. Its simple yet effective design makes it an essential accessory for anyone who values the longevity and appearance of their smart ring.

Target Partners with Oura to Expand Smart Ring Retail Footprint

Target has teamed up with Oura to enhance its in-store retail experience for the Oura Ring wearable. Customers can now try out the Oura Ring at Target locations, eliminating the need for at-home sizing kits and reducing the waiting period before receiving their ring. Additionally, Target offers a $10 gift card with the purchase of an Oura sizing kit, applicable to future purchases at Target or Target.com.

Is the Oura Ring Waterproof?

While the Oura Ring is not waterproof, it offers water resistance up to 330 feet (100 meters), allowing users to wear it during swimming, showering, and snorkeling. However, it’s not recommended for scuba diving or extended water submersion. Compared to other smart rings, the Oura Ring’s water resistance is similar to the Ultrahuman Ring Air and exceeds the Amovan Smart Ring. It matches the Apple Watch Ultra but surpasses the Apple Watch Series 2 and Google Pixel Watch 2 in terms of water protection.
