IPL Governing Council Caps Overseas Player Auction Fees to Protect Indian Stars

In a move aimed at ensuring Indian cricketers remain the top earners in the IPL, the Governing Council has capped the maximum auction price for overseas players at Rs. 18 crore. This decision comes after the previous mini-auction saw Australian players like Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins command exorbitant fees. The Governing Council has also increased the reserve prices for all players, making the upcoming auction a more expensive affair.
