Robot Dreams: A Film About a Dog and Robot Friendship in 1980s New York City

Robot Dreams, a dialogue-free film about a dog and his robot companion, will finally be released in theaters on May 31st. It premiered to rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival last year, but has been unavailable since then. The film is directed by Pablo Berger and is based on Sara Varon’s graphic novel. The official plot synopsis reads: ‘Dog lives in Manhattan and he’s tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot, a companion. Their friendship blossoms, until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of 80’s NYC. One summer night, DOG, with great sadness, is forced to abandon ROBOT at the beach.’

Neon Unveils Trailer for Oscar-Nominated ‘Robot Dreams’

Neon has released the trailer for Pablo Berger’s Oscar-nominated film, ‘Robot Dreams.’ Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the film follows DOG, a lonely resident of Manhattan who decides to build himself a robot. Their friendship blossoms, but one summer night, DOG is forced to abandon Robot at the beach. The film stars Ivan Labanda, Albert Trifol Segarra, and Rafa Calvo and will debut in theaters on May 31, 2024.
