India’s Paddy Procurement in Punjab Surpasses 120 LMT, Benefiting Over 6 Lakh Farmers

India’s Food Corporation of India (FCI) and state agencies have procured over 120 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of paddy in Punjab during the ongoing kharif marketing season (KMS) 2024-2025, benefiting over 6.58 lakh farmers. The procurement is being carried out at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 2,320 per quintal for Grade ‘A’ paddy. This comes as the government aims to procure a total of 185 LMT of paddy for the season.
