Veteran Actor Mithun Chakraborty Conferred with Padma Bhushan

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty was honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award, India’s third-highest civilian honor, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on Monday. President Droupadi Murmu presented the award in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Mithun Chakraborty, affectionately known as Mithun Da by fans, has entertained audiences for decades with his versatile acting skills, winning three National Film Awards for his performances in ‘Mrigayaa’, ‘Tahader Katha’, and ‘Swami Vivekananda’. He is also renowned for his iconic dance tracks, including ‘I Am a Disco Dancer,’ ‘Jimmy Jimmy,’ and ‘Super Dancer.’

President Murmu Confers Padma Awards 2024

President Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious Padma Awards to 132 deserving individuals on April 22, 2024. These awards, comprising five Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan, and 110 Padma Shri, recognize exceptional contributions in various fields and are the highest civilian honors bestowed in the country.

Padma Awards 2024: M Venkaiah Naidu, Bindeshwar Pathak Among Prestigious Recipients

In a grand ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Padma Awards were bestowed upon distinguished individuals. Former vice president M Venkaiah Naidu, founder of Sulabh International Bindeshwar Pathak (posthumously), and renowned Bharatanatyam dancer Padma Subrahmanyam were honored with the Padma Vibhushan. Actor Mithun Chakraborty, singer Usha Uthup, former Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik, and industrialist Sitaram Jindal received the Padma Bhushan.
